It's A Boy!

At last, just when I thought our baby was never going to make an appearance, Sam Jake Rawlings was born on 12th April 2012, 10 days overdue!  And a boy! I'd told myself we were going to have a boy, but when it really did turn out to be a boy it was still an amazing surprise!  It's been a lovely week just resting and cuddling our little bundle of joy and so far he's been a very laid back little fella.  And Tabitha has been amazing at accepting her new baby brother into her world... fingers crossed it carries on as smoothly!

Wishing you a Happy Easter - hope you enjoy your choccy eggs!!  Unless the baby arrives tonight (yes, still no sign!) I'll be bunny hopping around the garden hunting for easter eggs with Tabitha tomorrow, can't wait!

Baby Brain

Wednesday 4 April 2012

I can only apologise at the moment for what appears to be the onset of baby brain... Whilst in this limbo of waiting I can't seem to get my thoughts together to blog about all the things I want to, so I'm sticking to short posts at the moment until the fog lifts!

Alas, I'm bringing you another Etsy find in Depeapa (sparked from a necklace originally seen in this post from Oh Joy!) but with such cool and original handcrafted stuff I know you'll forgive me!

I'm totally in love with this geometic design pendant necklace.  It would look so great with a simple outfit, like a white vest and dark jeans.

Whilst my love of tote bags continues with this bold geometric mountain design, printed on natural canvas.

And if I had my own home office or desk area, I'd be sure to hang this print above my workspace - could there be a cheerier way to start your day?!!

Interesting Quote

Well, the update is... no baby yet!  But of course they do say good things come to those who wait, so I'm sure if I sit tight and take it easy our bundle of joy will come soon :)

In the meantime, just a quick post - I read this quote over the weekend and it really stuck in my head...

I like stumbling across quotes like this that resonate in some way, that capture something you've been perhaps thinking or feeling without even realising.  It can change your perspective just like that, and make you think about something in a completely different way.  As someone who worries a lot about what other people think, or who can always find a reason why not to do or try something new, this quote really made me realise that actually it's my own hang ups that stop me from doing things.  Maybe it's time for a change in attitude!

I read this quote in an interview with Hilda Grahnat, a blogger and photographer who lives in Sweden, on another blog SFGirlByBay.  You can check out the interview here, which is also a sneak peek around Hilda's home, which is lovely so worth checking out!
